Here’s my story. I worked for many years in the IT industry working my way up through the ranks to become an Informix and Oracle database analyst. Through the years I worked for PageNet, Fidelity Investments, Bell Helicopter, and Checkpoint Technologies just to name a few. Like most people, I had to endure cutbacks or layoffs. My last project was terminated and I was out of work for a year. I wasn’t too prideful to take any type of job to make ends meet.

One day our dryer stopped working for the third time in four months. We had a well-known warranty package; however, limits were put on which parts were covered. A repairman told me that my appliance brand was “a piece of crap”, which prompted me to research the part I needed and I repaired our dryer myself.

This led me to research the appliance industry to find out what was required to start my own appliance repair business. To my surprise, in 2015, the home appliance industry generated over 100 billion dollars in revenue. I always loved to tinker with things and believed I could provide a much better service than what I was receiving. Like most people, my appliances were not cheap and certainly were not pieces of crap.

So I enrolled in an appliance repair training course. I trained hard and successfully completed my training. I attained business licenses for multiple counties in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex and gathered a team of highly skilled individuals to create a scalable business plan.

We stepped out on faith, created and launched our website. Two hours later we received our first call. The call was a successful appointment and repair. Here we are now, six years later providing a successful appliance repair business for locals in our city.

The road has been rough, but we’ve built a successful clientele of repeat customers and our customer base has continued to grow. It’s been a long time coming for the business and we really appreciate all of our customers. We are excited to see what 2021 has in store for Hancock Appliance Repair.
